Dr Stella Pendle graduated with MBBCh from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1994. She worked as a junior resident in an Infectious Diseases hospital in Johannesburg for three years and obtained the Diploma in Tropical Medicine during this time.
In 1999, Stella emigrated to Australia and worked as a resident at Gosford Hospital after completing the AMC exams. She did her registrar training in pathology (microbiology) at Royal North Shore Hospital and ICPMR Westmead and then moved to Laverty Pathology where she worked for 4 years. Stella has published several papers in her fields of interest.
Since its inception in late 2009, Dr Pendle became one of the supervising pathologists at Pathology NSW.
